We offer placements in a wide range of departments across Cancer Research UK including teams such as fundraising, marketing, brand, communications, corporate resources, campaigning and human resources.

The roles available do vary from intake to intake, making each internship unique. But we do ensure that you get genuine responsibility on a specific project key to Cancer Research UK's organisational needs.

For example, you could be:

  • Scoping a new idea or concept.
  • Marketing our events or fundraising products.
  • Creating and producing materials.
  • Co-ordinating internal or external communications.
  • Organising events.
  • Researching our marketplace.
  • Reviewing the way we work internally.

What support and training would I receive?

  • An induction into Cancer Research UK and your specific role.
  • A dedicated mentor to monitor your progress and help with personal development throughout the 12 weeks.
  • Support from the Volunteering Department and dedicated managers around the charity who centrally coordinate the internships.
  • Training and development relevant to your role.
