Retail chain is named top charity performer
Cancer Research UK has beaten Oxfam and British Heart Foundation to the coveted number one spot for 'most profitable shops' in the Charity Shops Survey 2009.
The annual survey, produced by the Charity Finance Magazine, revealed that Cancer Research UK made the number one position based on profit per shop per week.
Increased profits
Cancer Research UK's retail chain has increased its total profit by 5.9% whilst Oxfam saw their profits fall by 0.3%.
Simon Ledsham, Trading Director, said:
"I'm really proud that we have the best chain out there, with the best people and incredible support from the organisation. These results represent commitment from all areas of the organisation so please pass on my thanks to your teams who support Trading."
The news follows a promising start to the year for Trading who recently celebrated their strongest ever weekly performance - selling £1.3 million worth of Donated Goods.
