How your donations help

A cancer patient and nurse in hospitalMost people have clothes they no longer wear, CDs they have ditched in favour of their iPod, homeware that is so last season and books they read years ago. Donating these to Cancer Research UK helps to raise money to fund our vital work to beat cancer.

Just one bag could be worth as much as £30. That means:

23 bags could cover the cost of one person taking part in a clinical trial, testing chemotherapy before and after surgery and the antibody drug Vectibix, to improve survival for bowel cancer patients.

100 bags could cover the basic costs for one patient to take part in a clinical trial to improve treatment of a type of head and neck cancer.

540 bags could cover around one year’s running expenses for an important lab project into a type of children’s cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma which could lead to improved treatments so that more children survive the disease in future.

1670 bags could fund one cancer information nurse for a year. Our experienced cancer information nurses provide a confidential service for anyone with concerns about cancer.
