Three Peaks ChallengeThree Peaks Challenge

Tom Broom and seven of his friends took part in the extremely challenging Three Peaks Challenge over one weekend to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

“We've all been affected by cancer so the choice of charity was a simple one," says Tom. “I personally lost my father to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Nathan lost his mother to cancer and Stephen survived cancer as a teenager.”

Climbing to beat cancer

Starting out at Ben Nevis in Fort William on a Friday afternoon, it took them just over two hours to reach a very cloudy summit. From there the group drove through the night to Scafell Pike in the Lake District, reaching the peak at 6am.

The group completed their challenge on the top of Snowdonia in Wales on Sunday afternoon before heading for a well deserved rest.

Raising money to help save lives

With the help of their family, friends and colleagues, the group raised an amazing £5,200 for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.

“We are incredibly proud of our achievement and look forward to doing more to raise money to help beat cancer.”

A big thank you to all the climbers: Tom Broom, Andrew Kettlety, Stephen Dalton, Richard Mileham, Nathan Summers, Tim Yates, Russell Pixton and John Gillen who got them to all the peaks in his trusty mini-bus!
