Christmas carol singingChristmas carol singing

Fundraiser Mary Regan has been organising a local community carol singing event which takes place on a Saturday lunch time in December every year since 2009.

The event takes place at St Margaret's, Twickenham at the heart of the community.  Every year a beautiful Christmas tree with festive lights is put up outside the butcher's shop in the village, where the singers and musicians gather to sing carols.

So far Mary and her carol singers have raised £700.  Last year she even got Vince Cable to sing along too!

A personal experience

Mary has had 25 years personal experience of cancer. Several generations of her family have been affected by different forms of cancer and she sadly lost both parents to the disease.

Her sister and niece are currently in remission from malignant melanoma and ostio sarcoma, and baby William in the family is receiving treatment for leukaemia.

Over the years she has witnessed  major advances in the treatment of different cancers and as a result has personally and passionately committed herself to raising funds for research. Thank you Mary.
