About the challenge

At 9.00pm on 30 August 2011, our brave swimmers set off from Holyhead on a relay swim across the notoriously treacherous Irish Sea.

Led by captain Ronan Keating, the team included celebrities Jason Bradbury, Jenny Frost, Steve Parry and Pamela Stephenson, along with five other swimmers and one reserve.

They swam day and night, suffering jellyfish stings, sleep deprivation and wetsuit chafing. They touched down at the finish line in Wicklow in Ireland at 8.18am on Thursday 1 September – a fantastic achievement by a determined team.
