Fundraising hints and tips

With our unique and personal approach we are always on hand to help you with your fundraising every step of the way. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Organise a raffle

Why not ask suppliers or local businesses to donate prizes for your raffle, or you could ask your boss to donate an extra day's annual leave or afternoon off?

The Directors' challenge

Lead by example and set the standard. How about 'Boss in a Box' where your boss is locked in an office with only their mobile phone and has to raise £1,000 from their contacts to be let out. Or challenge every director in the company to compete with each other to raise the most money in the most imaginative way possible.
See how Compass Group did it and raised over £78,000!

Big night out

Contact your Cancer Research UK account manager for advice on how to organise a quiz, football tournament, charity ball or anything else that takes your fancy.
A Deloitte 5-a-side tournament in 2008 attracted 20 teams and raised over £8,000.

Sweepstake

Have an office sweepstake for the Oscars, the World Cup, Eurovision or any other major event throughout the year.

Get dressed up

Pop on a frock, dust off your wig and get dressed up to beat cancer.
B&Q stores held pink days and Halloween days throughout October 2008 and raised hundreds of pounds.

Mission possible – the £5 entrepreneurial challenge

Staff are given £5 (their 'seed') and told to go forth and 'grow' their £5 for Cancer Research UK. They can do this in any way, safety permitting!

Take part in a trek

52 walkers from Societe Generale undertook a Three Peaks Trek in 2008 and raised over £68,000 for Cancer Research UK. Why not get together with your colleagues to get fit and raise funds for our life-saving work?
