Our chain of shops sells, predominately, goods that have been donated by the public. We need a constant supply and you would be instrumental in securing stock for the shops you support whilst also helping the environment by encouraging the public to recycle their unwanted goods
What will I be doing?
- Contacting companies, schools, clubs and societies, etc. to organise one-off or regular support and motivate them to donate stock for sale in our shops
- Contacts could be in person or by phone from the shop
- Set up 'Donation Station' temporary stock collection points at workplaces using our materials
- Manage the contacts to maintain good relationships with donors
- Work with our PR team to locally publicise our need for stock donation (where appropriate)
- Liaise with Area Manager and Shop Managers on stock requirements and sources (such as end of line or surplus stock, lost property, etc.)
What skills and attributes do I need to have?
- Enjoy networking and working with new people
- Well-organised working methods
- Communication skills
- Enjoy a challenge and be willing to demonstrate persistence in the role
- Willing to be an ambassador for Cancer Research UK
How much time do I need to commit?
- The amount of time is flexible and your contribution could be timed to fit in with your other commitments
- We would be grateful if you could contribute eight hours per week or more
What support will I be given?
- Your Area Manager will organise training, advice and support
- You will have an induction pack to refer to when you start the role
- Shop managers and their volunteer teams are a valuable source of local information and contacts

Where will I be based?
- In your local shop, where a telephone will be made available for you
- Some work could be done from home, if you preferred
- Visits to local businesses, clubs and schools, etc may be useful
