Why we need you:
To maximise profitability, we need volunteers who are prepared to take responsibility for the operation of the shop when the manager is not available. The Deputy Manager would also support the manager in the normal running of the shop and by taking on responsibility for initiatives to develop and improve performance.
What will I be doing?
- Supervising all aspects of the shop when the manager is on leave, has a day off or is at training meetings
- Using your growing knowledge of the business to improve sales and profit
- Assisting the manager with the day to day running of the shop
What skills and attributes do I need to have?
- A good standard of numeracy and literacy
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Friendly, approachable person who enjoys working as part of a team
- Previous retail, management or charity experience would be helpful, but not essential
How much time do I need to commit?
- Flexible time commitment
- Probably available for about 16 hours per week or more
- Able to give additional time when the shop manager is on annual leave, etc.

- Comprehensive training on all aspects of the role
- Full training pack supplied
- Shop manager and experienced volunteers to provide guidance and answer any questions
- Access to NVQ accreditation available
