Why we need you:
To maximise funds raised for Cancer Research UK through the giving of donations made in memory of people in your local area.
What will I be doing?
- Acting as Cancer Research UK's local representative responsible for encouraging and thanking gifts in memory donations in your area
- Building relationships with local funeral directors by phone, letter and meetings
- Writing personalised Thank You Letters and cards to recognise donations
What skills and attributes do I need?
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly approach
- Ability to write appropriate and sympathetic correspondence
- Ability to work proactively and independently
- Ability to communicate effectively and have a confident manner Ability to travel within local area is essential
How much time do I need to commit?
We would ideally like you to commit one day a week to this volunteer role.
What support will I be given?
- We will give you full induction and training on all aspects of this role
- All appropriate materials as well as templates of suggested letters for thanking people for their donations will be supplied by us
- A dedicated Area Volunteer Manager will be available to give you continuous support, advice and guidance

Where will I be based?
Most of your work will involve being out and about representing the charity in your local community and acknowledging the donations will be done from your own home.
