Why we need you:
To represent Cancer Research UK within your local community and thereby help maximise funds and awareness for the charity within your area.
What will I be doing?
- Attending cheque presentations when necessary
- Representing Cancer Research UK at these presentations
- Communicating with the media by providing quotes on behalf of Cancer Research UK
- Having your picture taken to be placed in local media and internal communications.
What skills and attributes do I need?
- Good communication skills and outgoing personality as you will be meeting members of the public
- The ability to work well with staff as part of the local team is important
- The ability to drive and willingness to use your own vehicle
- Enthusiasm for the work of Cancer Research UK is essential for this role
How much time do I need to commit?
Ideally we would like you to commit to giving one day a month on an ad hoc basis to the charity over a period of at least 6 months.
What support will I be given?
- We will give you full induction and training on all aspects of this role
- All appropriate materials to support your presentations will be supplied by us
- A dedicate Area Volunteer Manager will be available to give you continuous support, advice and guidance
