Why we need you:
We are looking for Action Team Volunteer Coordinators to manage a team of volunteers who will help out at fundraising and health awareness events in your local area.
What will I be doing?
- Acting as a point of contact for Cancer Research UK staff requiring voluntary help and taking calls from them establishing date, time and number of volunteers required by them
- Contacting your Action Team members to establish their availability
- Reporting back to staff members to inform them who within the team is willing to attend
- Keeping records of the work done by your team and reporting back to staff with results as and when this is required
- Recruiting new members to the Action Team as necessary
What skills and attributes do I need?
- Access to a telephone, the internet and email
- Good communication skills
- Ability to motivate and manage a group of volunteers
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to keep basic records
How much time do I need to commit?
As a volunteer, you control the time you give and we hope that you will be able to fit volunteering in with your work and other commitments.
What support will I be given?
- We will give you full induction and training on all aspects of this role
- All appropriate materials to support your role will be supplied by us
- A dedicated Area Volunteer Manager will be available to give you continuos support, advice and guidance

Where will I be based?
Most of your work will involve being out and about representing the charity in your local community but you may need to carry out some tasks from home.
