Steve Farr

Bringing the community together

Steve Farr first got involved with Relay For Life in 2006, when he joined an existing Relay committee and helped organise the event in Bury after he lost both parents to cancer.

In 2007 Steve decided to take Relay For Life to his home town of Rossendale. The Relay, which he helped to organise, raised an incredible £21,000 for Cancer Research UK.

There were over 200 Candle of Hope dedications and 13 survivors did a lap of honour to huge applause.

Steve says: "If we all spread the word and Relay keeps growing, this event will very soon become hugely important to the charity and, almost as importantly, put cancer awareness at the heart of communities up and down the country."
