Helping to make Cancer Research UK events happen

Claire Flack and Chris Austin are Race for Life volunteers and say:

"Everyone knows someone close who has been affected by cancer and we are no different. Losing friends to cancer spurred us on to find out what we could do to help such a fantastic charity.

"Volunteering at Race for Life was a spontaneous decision a couple of years ago. We wanted to use our work-life skills and help Cancer Research UK deliver a Race for Life event.

"It's such a fantastic and electric feeling when you're there, in the thick of it. Volunteering is not only personally rewarding for us, but is also so important to the success of Cancer Research UK events that rely on volunteers like us.

"Being a volunteer is extremely enjoyable, hard work and great fun. Cancer Research UK also listens and supports its volunteers so well.

"We are both so proud to be part of the team and continue to offer our support as much as we can."
