Two ways to volunteer
For either of the following roles, you should also be able to work in a team, lift equipment (within reason!) and communicate warmly with the public.
Role 1. Day volunteer
Day volunteers are paramount for a successful event. Your tasks might involve:
- setting up equipment
- registering participants and answering queries
- acting as a marshal and clearing litter
- handing out medals and goody bags.
Role 2. Key event volunteer
As a key event volunteer, you’ll help us plan and prepare events, as well as taking on extra responsibility on the day itself. You might be:
- organising local promotion
- helping design an event course
- coordinating a team of fellow volunteers on the day.
We’ll provide all the support and direction you need, so you’ll feel comfortable taking on these tasks.

Particular events and seasons
You may be interested in volunteering at a particular event. Our range of activities varies seasonally through the year, and you can search by postcode or event type.
