The Bluebell Walk is approximately five kilometres long through the stunning surroundings of Kew Gardens. The route changes every year but always includes the swathes of bluebells in the woodland close to Queen Charlotte’s Cottage.
This year there were pedometers on sale to record distances and calories burnt. The brilliant sunshine and a fantastic display of bluebells contributed to a memorable day all round.
The Bluebell Walk is suitable for all ages and participants can start at any time during the morning and stay to enjoy Kew’s many other attractions after completing the course. Many walkers return every year to support the event, and individuals and families enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
We are already planning next year’s Walk. Anyone wanting further information about the Walk, or about other events run by the Committee, should email londonoffice@cancer.org.uk or call 0870 402 9899.
The Putney and Roehampton Committee also hold a pre Christmas Fair at the Bank of England Sports Club in Roehampton in November and other events during the year.
