Raising vital funds for breast cancer research
Sharyn staged the Pink Dip for the first time in October 2005 and was so overwhelmed by the response it is now an annual event.
She said: "I’m delighted to have done the Pink Dip for the fourth year in a row and would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who took part this year".
Sharyn was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994 after discovering a lump on her left breast. She was referred for a mammogram by her GP which confirmed she had breast cancer.
The mother-of-two underwent a lumpectomy to have the lump removed. This was followed by three months of chemotherapy, six weeks of daily radiotherapy sessions, and then another three month course of chemotherapy.
In July 2003, Sharyn knew the cancer had returned. She went for another mammogram which confirmed her fear. This time, Sharyn decided to have a double mastectomy.
