Months of planning paid off
The event took six months to organise and the local support that the organising committee received was amazing.
Wendy Meiklejohn, who chaired the Caithness Relay committee, said:
"During the months of planning there were times when I wondered what on earth I had taken on, but just being there, being part of an amazing night with so many wonderful people having fun, and raising so much money for Cancer Research UK made it all worth it.
"If you get the chance to be part of a Relay For Life in any way then do it."
Get involved
Be part of a truly hopeful, inspirational and life-affirming event. Organise your own Relay or take part in a Relay near you.
Relay For Life celebrates the lives of cancer survivors, commemorates those who have died from the disease and raises funds into vital research into beating cancer.
The Relay involves teams taking turns in walking laps round a track, while all around them a party is in full swing. The event goes on for 12 hours and includes a Candle of Hope Ceremony, which remembers those who have been lost to cancer and celebrates the lives of those who have survived. |
