The Bobby Moore Fund

Tackling bowel cancer

In 1993, England football legend Bobby Moore sadly died of bowel cancer, the disease from which 44 people die everyday in the UK. After his death, his widow Stephanie Moore MBE, set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK.

The objective of the Fund is to not only raise funds for world class research into bowel cancer, but also to raise awareness of the disease. Since 1993, the Bobby Moore Fund has raised over £10 million, which has funded 36 research fellowships as well as a laboratory at St Mark's Hospital, London.
