Top tips for Dine@Mine success
Here are some handy tips for organising a Dine@Mine event, but remember that it's all about doing it your way – so feel free to improvise.
- Plan ahead
Give your guests at least a month's notice so they can keep the date free - the more the merrier!
- Select your location
Why not be adventurous and host your event on a beach, on top of a mountain, in a castle or at a festival this summer?
- Be creative about fundraising
There are lots of ways to raise money for Cancer Research UK, including games, dares, "swear boxes" and so on. Think big!
- Food ideas
Have a look at our celebrity recipes for some ideas on what food to prepare.
- Ask for supermarket aid
Supermarkets have supported many past hosts with coupons and food donations, so contact your local supermarket about your Dine@Mine event.
- Ask for help
Guests can bring a dish or help you by decorating or planning the entertainment.
- Be prepared
Start planning your event in advance. Make a list of all the things you need to do, from preparing the food to organising the entertainment.
- Create party bags
Why not recreate some nostalgia by giving your guests a parting gift bag filled with themed goodies?
- Set the scene
Use music, lighting and decorations to create the theme and atmosphere for your event.
- Document your event
Take pictures and share the fun with your guests after your Dine@Mine event has happened.
