Why we need you:
To support the local fundraising staff in raising maximum awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK campaigns that occur throughout the year.
What will I be doing?
- Arranging the distribution of Cancer Research UK campaign leaflets and posters in your community
- Communicating with the public and approaching local businesses
- Assisting in the organisation of campaign launch events
- Assisting in the promotional events for all campaigns within your local community
- Encouraging new and existing supporters to get involved with our campaigns
What skills and attributes do I need?
- A passion and enthusiasm for all of our campaigns
- Good communications skills and outgoing personality
- The ability to work on a range of different tasks
- Good Influencing and persuading skills
- The ability to work well with staff and other volunteers as part of a team
- A full driving license and use of your own vehicle
How much time do I need to commit?
Ideally, 7-15 hours per week around heightened periods of campaign activity.
What support will I be given?
- We will give you full induction and training relevant to this role
- All appropriate materials to support you through the campaigns will be supplied by us
- A dedicate Area Volunteer Manager will be available to give you continuous support, advice and guidance

Where will I be based?
Most of your work will involve being out and about representing the charity in your local community but you may need to carry out some tasks from home.
